Integrative Yoga for Healing & Alignment

Yoga is an ancient Indian healing tradition that utilizes a gently flowing integration of postures and breath, with an emphasis on accessing a calm and empowered body, mind, and heart.

This practice consists of stretching and strengthening joints, muscles, and tissues, as well as an exploration of breathing, relaxation, and mindfulness techniques.

Integrated Yoga for Healing and Alignment takes a classical approach–we move at a gentle, mindful pace with emphasis on breath with the intention of facilitating awareness, healing, and alignment.

Classes are appropriate for all levels of experience and can be modified for those with physical considerations.

Please bring a mat, as well as any other props that are beneficial for your practice. Some mats and props are also available for use at the center.

We’re confused … “Spiritual Enlightenment” can wait. The missing link is EMOTIONS. It’s about learning to handle & process your self-defeating and destructive emotions so you can navigate life in clear, centered clarity.

I’m Becca Williams and recently joined Mayu Sanctuary with its remarkable mission for inner exploration. In this Mayu gathering, we’ll continue to experience the revolutionary “Emotional Liberation” approach so that you can learn to release self-limiting patterns of fear & anxiety, depression, self-doubt, anger, sadness, shame, overwhelm, boredom, unworthiness.

These transformative journeys in emotional self-healing embrace specific kundalini practices, which are strikingly different from the quiet sitting of mindfulness practices.

We’ll begin our time together getting settled – a brief group conversation and instructions on our practice with a break before starting the session. We then embark upon an exceptional exploratory session of renewal.

I will guide us through active and often vigorous Eastern body and breath movements that will ground our intentions and connect us energetically. With specially selected music, we’ll align breath, movement and sound to activate our energy body inner that is the portal to deep transformative physical and emotional healing. These approaches will reconnect you with yourself at the deepest and most intimate level and give you fresh INNER perspective to serve as a compass for your life.

The experience will last about 75 to 90-minutes and, time permitting, we’ll follow with integration time. You’ll want to wear comfortable clothes in layers, bring a water bottle and journal to take notes after your experience. Mayu has sitting cushions but I invite you to also bring any other gear you’d like for greater comfort.

These Emotional Liberation approaches engage energy channels to rewire patterns in your brain and reorganize your nervous system to open the door to deeper awareness for emotional healing and wellbeing. Becca is trained as a clinical nutritionist and has been a group facilitator, speaker and mentor for personal and collective transformation for more than two decades. She believes communal gatherings such as these help to deepen our experiences of life and add richness and meaning, something that is so desperately needed in our modern distracted lives.

Tsa Lung: Tibetan Breathwork & Subtle Body Training

DESCRIPTION

In Tibetan, “tsa” means channel and “lung” means wind-energy. These are two of the three components of the subtle body. The third is essence, which is carried through the channels by the wind. Tsa Lung harnesses the breath to open the the subtle channels of the body, enabling the energy and vital essences to flow harmoniously.

With this practice, we train proper breath retention in combination with movement to release blockages. The result is increased vitality and a calmer, clearer mind.

Tsa Lung includes preliminary practices to prepare the body, breath and channels, and set the proper motivation, as well as meditation and visualization to integrate the changes.

In this introductory workshop, participants will:

– Receive background teachings on the purpose and lineage of the practice
– Learn a breathing practice to balance and cleanse the side-channels
– Practice the 4 steps of proper breath retention, which is the foundation of Tsa Lung
– Experience a core set of movements that can be done in conjunction with breath retention, whether a beginner or more advanced
– Understand what the subtle body is why it is vital to care for it
– Practice meditation to close the practice and integrate the openings that were created

Teacher Bio:
Farrah Garan teaches traditional Tibetan healing movement practices that empower us to cultivate a calm mind, vibrant energy and open heart, including: Lu Jong Healing Yoga, Tog Chöd Sword Dance, and Tsa Lung Breathwork.

Farrah received the Tantric Buddhist tradition from her teacher, Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche. She has worked closely with Tulku Lobsang since 2002, as a student, president of the US affiliate of his organization, North American Tour Coordinator, and employee of Nangten Menlang International. She prepares the Teacher’s Manuals and has been integral in developing the Lu Jong Teacher Certification program and curriculum.

Farrah is dedicated to spreading the deep wisdom of the Tibetan healing arts. Her aim is to make these simple—but powerfully effective—practices widely known, particularly by training more teachers so that many may benefit.

Qigong movement involves gentle standing forms and movements. We focus on regulating the breath to calm the nervous system, quieting and focusing the mind, grounding and refining our energy, and connecting into our hearts.

Classes occasionally include breath or meditation work in a seated or reclined position. Movements are easily adaptable to any present health considerations.

Integrative Yoga for Healing & Alignment

DESCRIPTION

Yoga is an ancient Indian healing tradition that utilizes a gently flowing integration of postures and breath, with an emphasis on accessing a calm and empowered body, mind, and heart.

This practice consists of stretching and strengthening joints, muscles, and tissues, as well as an exploration of breathing, relaxation, and mindfulness techniques.

Integrated Yoga for Healing and Alignment takes a classical approach–we move at a gentle, mindful pace with emphasis on breath with the intention of facilitating awareness, healing, and alignment.

Classes are appropriate for all levels of experience and can be modified for those with physical considerations.

Please bring a mat, as well as any other props that are beneficial for your practice. Some mats and props are also available for use at the center.
