Lu Jong: Tibetan Healing Yoga
Oct 21 @ 8:00 am – 9:15 am

DESCRIPTION

The Lu Jong practice is a series of body movements that developed more than 8000 years ago in Tibet. Lu Jong originates in the Buddhist Tantrayana and Bön traditions, and is based in Tibetan Medicine. Through the combination of position, movement and breath, Lu Jong opens the channels in the body and mobilizes misdirected energy. In this way, the practice of Lu Jong helps to cultivate balance on the physical, mental and energetic levels.

On the physical level, the movements support the healing processes and also effectively combat disease. On a mental level, Lu Jong helps us overcome negative emotions like anger and craving in order to achieve emotional balance and increase our energy. On an energetic level, Lu Jong releases blockages and opens the subtle body channels. Reestablishing the proper flow of energy has profound consequences for the health of both body and mind. And when we open our channels, we open our hearts.

This form of Lu Jong originates in the lineage of Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche, who introduced the practice of Lu Jong to the West. Prior to this, he received many years of teachings from masters of different Tibetan Buddhist schools. The result is an extensive program of physical movements, which bring our bodies and minds into balance. The practice of Lu Jong is suitable for all ages and physical abilities.

Come join John in a morning practice to open the body and mind.  You don’t need to know Lu Jong to join the class.  John will teach 21 Lu Jong movements as well as holding a regular practice.  Newcomers will receive handouts on the movements to help them with home practice. Other class material will include background material in Tibetan medicine and Tantrayana Buddhism.

Because Lu Jong originates in Tantrayana Buddhism and Bön, this morning practice is a great compliment to Lhoppön Rinpoche’s 10:00am teaching and meditation, offered at Mayu on Sunday mornings.

Transform Your Difficult Emotions NOW
Oct 21 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

DESCRIPTION

Emotional Liberation with Becca Williams

Enlightenment Can Come Later. Transform Your Difficult Emotions NOW

We’re confused … “Spiritual Enlightenment” can wait. The missing link is EMOTIONS. It’s about learning to handle & process your self-defeating and destructive emotions so you can navigate life in clear, centered clarity.

What people are saying: http://cannanaut.com/testimonials/

I’m Becca Williams and excited to be having this gathering at Mayu Sanctuary with its remarkable mission for inner exploration.

We’ll continue to experience the revolutionary “Emotional Liberation” approach so that you can learn to release self-limiting patterns of fear & anxiety, depression, self-doubt, anger, sadness, shame, overwhelm, boredom, unworthiness.

These transformative journeys in emotional self-healing embrace specific kundalini practices, which are strikingly different from the quiet sitting of mindfulness practices.

We’ll begin our time together getting settled – a brief group conversation and instructions on our afternoon practice. We then embark upon an exceptional exploratory afternoon of renewal.

I’ll guide us through active Eastern body and breath movements that will ground our intentions and connect us energetically. With specially selected music, we’ll align breath, movement and sound to activate our energy body which is the portal to deep transformative physical and emotional healing. These approaches will reconnect you with yourself at the deepest and most intimate level and give you fresh INNER perspective to serve as a compass for your life.

This may be a good fit for you if …

• You’re a mindfulness meditator and are curious how ancient, active kundalini practices can support your emotional wellbeing.

• You haven’t been a regular meditator because the quiet sitting practices have not come easy for you.

• You want to enliven your talk therapy sessions with new emotional “gold” that surfaces during Emotional Liberation experiences.

• You want to strengthen and condition your nervous system to optimize the release and reset of your physical and emotional constitution.

Becca’s Bio

As an “Emotional Liberation” teacher and ceremonialist, Becca guides participants through active powerful meditation practices from the ancient kundalini meditation tradition. These Emotional Liberation approaches engage energy channels to rewire patterns in your brain and reorganize your nervous system to open the door to deeper awareness for emotional healing and wellbeing. Becca is trained as a clinical nutritionist and has been a group facilitator, speaker and mentor for personal and collective transformation for more than two decades. She believes communal gatherings such as these help to deepen our experiences of life and add richness and meaning, something that is so desperately needed in our modern distracted lives.

Lucid Self
Oct 23 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

DESCRIPTION

In a lucid dream you are aware that you are dreaming. The same is true in life.

To be aware is to not be consumed by the events around you. “Thinking” in this clear state means not getting lost in thoughts. Instead, there is awareness that thinking is happening. You are lucid.

When we are not aware, consciousness easily gets carried away by passing phenomena: the senses, images in the mind, emotions, and objects in the world. All of these things draw us in like a magnet.

Join us for these weekly classes where we explore what consciousness is, and what it is not. Greater freedom and stability of mind come with lucid awareness!
